X2 on what ArdWrknTrk said. I didn't think of it, but as seeing your's is a '95, the PCV valve may already be located in the center of the Vac Tee, and your brake booster line to the rear of the Plenum. If it's sucking in Brake fluid, this would give you symptoms you are describing.
Also, if you have an older Ford, the tranny modulator on the C-"X" transmissions can allow for tranny fluid to be sucked in.
The bad problem of having the PVC going to only that one cylinder is that oil promotes detonation.
If only one cylinder is knocking it may go unnoticed until the piston is holed.
A better solution as others have mentioned is having it routed to the plenum (or the carb base in older vehicles) where the oil vapor is shared by all cylinders.
I swung by work on my way to school this morning to get some stuff out of my truck. I checked the booster vac line real quick while I was there. I didn't see much of anything inside of it, but then again I just yanked it off, looked, and plugged it back in. Literally a 5 second deal. I'll have to take a better look tomorrow, I was in a hurry today. However, the line does go right into the middle of a vacuum tree on top of the intake. Sorry I haven't got much to go on today. Hopefully I'll be able to do more tomorrow.
Hi Guys i'm new to the forums.I have been working on cars over 40 years and every day I see something new. I bought a Bronco 2 for mainly off road purposes and put a set of maxxis buckshots on it. Ok the oil problem; I rebuilt the motor, mains, rods, new rings gasket set and heads done,(replaced one cracked). Put it together but these motors are noisy. Cant really adjust lifters on the 86 model; they are not like a chevy. Put it together and it ran so so. Next day I cranked it up to finish a few little details and it smoked so bad it covered the whole yard. Wow whats wrong now; I'm having night mares of having to pull this engine and go back through it. I pulled all vaccum lines to the motor and plugged them to see if I was pulling oil from somewhere. I know valve seals can produce a smokey start but that usually clears off in a few minutes. Man i'm racking my brain checking for overfill of oil, anything that could cause this. I went on line and checked all suggestions but none worked. I pulled the plugs this morning making shure to place them in order as they came out. Number 3 plug was soaking wet with oil, now i'm thinking I have a real problem. Decided to pull the valve cover and there it was.......................
the number 3 intake valve push rod had jumped off. The only thing I can figure is the lifter lost prime and it came off. Put it back on and checked that it was adjusted in and put it back together. Problem solved. I have never in 40 years of working on engines had that to happen..
