Help on a couple issues...

So I have a couple issues I need help with.

1st - My turn signal wont shut off when signaling right. It does flash just won't click into place. I assume this is because the cam is broken? Can I just order a replacement from LMC?

2nd - Whenever my truck is up to operating temp, 180 degrees, and gets shut off its very slow to get restarted. It cranks so slow you would think the battery is dead, and then a couple seconds later it will kick in turn over quikly and fire up. The battery is pretty weak, its died and been recharged a couple of times since it never gets driven. Once it cools all the way down, like overnight it fires right up.

Thanks guys!

My old man mentioned to that the timing may be off. It turns over fine when cold or cool. I do need to check on it for sure....

Gonna pull the wheel next week and confirm its the cam and get one on order.

Regular car batteries will be damaged if they are drained especially if the are drained more than once. I would replace you battery and possibly your starter too.

X2 on the timing as well.

Tired battery, battery cables corroded/poorly connected, starter heat soak, timing too far advanced....could be any of the above or a combination.

What kind of timing should I be looking for on this truck? 79 302. To slow timing the dizzy would need to be moved to the left correct? Its been a minute since I worked on a SBF...

Truck runs GREAT once its actually running, just need it to start without issue before I trust it enough to drive in a pinch.

Well I finally just in the last couple of days figured out what the issue was. The chassis ground was going bad, and actually had come completely disconnected. Thursday I had tried to start the truck and it was cold and was running like crap. Just wouldn't run right, so Friday night after work I popped the hood and there it was staring me in the face.

Truck is running better than it ever has before...little things sometimes I guess, they are probably the last things that check sometimes..
