Sounds good. 2500 isn't going to hurt anything.

Why would that be an issue??? Also you should use overdrive.

Also, it's better to NOT use OD when towing!

It's not a problem and it actually hums along quite nicely at that RPM. The steepest hill so far was about 10% @ 40MPH in 2nd, I guess.
This is my modern V8 and automatic, the only other V8/ auto I've ever had was a 66' Dodge 318. Its also my first time towing with a passenger vehicle.

I'm guessing you drive a rig, or have driven one, since you said this is your first experience towing with a passenger vehicle? I do to, and before that, i pulled many different campers with many different TVs since i have a real bad habit of buying and selling vehicles all the time. Just like anything else, being comfortable with your setup is all about seat time. I usually HATE the first full day of driving (on vacation usually) with a new truck or trailer, because i'm just not used to it and it wears you out! I've actually never had this problem in an 18 wheeler because they are specifically engineered and built to work together all the time. Anyway, you'll get used to your truck's towing habits and your trailer being back there. I'm always super comfortable by the time i get back home with any setup, but that first day always drives me nuts! My truck always feels SLOW and wierd, no matter what is under the hood.

NOT with a 4R75.
OD is the function of a band application in the 4R70/75 series transmissions, and does NOT have the capacity for heavy towing in OD. The band WILL slip, and cause serious issues.
