To answer your reflash question. There's been only one of our customers who asked for changes and he did like it. You should not need any special tuning changes with a T500 or SRP1 HPOP.

We have seen several of the SRP1 pumps grenade and push brass through the front seal. I would do some research before I even considered getting one as there have been 3 just on this forum that have completely locked up.

Here is a link to one guy who went through two of them.

That thread has very little info, and almost leads you to believe there is something other then the pump that caused the issues.

Gary has fixed the 3 pumps that I have read about, and with any new product there will be some teething issues.

I would still go with an SRP-1 or Adrenaline over a T-500...

That is actually only one of 3 or 4 threads that spanned a couple month ordeal. In the end there wasn't anything else going on and now the truck runs fine on the original stock pump. At least it was when he was at RRE this year and drove it up from Louisiana.

The SRP1 may be a good pump one day when the kinks are worked out but its hard to recommend a pump that has had several known catastrophic failures when something like the T-500 hasn't had any, or the Adrenaline which has only had a few.

You know there have not been any failures of the T-500... Because I know different.

Like with any of TE products, when someone has an issue its kept very quite.

Of course they all talk to me about it...

Right now Gary cant build them fast enough, so that tells me alot.

LOLOL! Calling a modded 17 a piece of crap is like calling a brand new, well working OEM 17* HPOP a piece of crap.

A modded 17 is a little better than a non-modded one and works really well with single shots. Not quite the criteria for "piece of crap" if ya ask me.

The T500 is a great pump. I 've had one for sometime now and love it. On an e99 it makes everything come alive, and tuner.I gained 2mpg at 78mph on the freeway. Now I know the posted has a highly moded truck but in my oppion its still a great choice.

Sorry Joe, I wasn't commenting on your experience, just mine and what I've read from others (positive reviews) on the forums.

But like you said, the point is moot...
But none the less, From what I hear your not getting a modded 17 anymore.

Humm should I stay out of this? I hate these mine is bigger and better than yours threads. I had plenty of guys pulling me this way and that way when I was looking for a hpop. I decided to go with the SRP1 cause I liked what it seemed to be able to to from it's limited reviews. The fact that it blew up on me within the first month got a real bad taste in my mouth though. After talking with Gary, which I will say seems to be a good guy, convinced me to try another pump since the first ones failures were probably not from pump issues but previously miss use of he pump before it was ever sold to me. So I did try a second pump and in due time it started making some noise and I opted to send it in to be checked out, sure nuff it was shoeing significant wear from contamination in the oil. So then I was refunded my money cause I supposedly had other issues to deal with. Since then in an order that I did not control my turbo went out and was replaced with a 38R and a new set of single shot stage ones. Now with my truck together still running my stock hpop that has yet to fail me is putting down 345hp and a 10.28 in the 1/8 mile, for a 10,000 lb truck I'm pleased! Why hasn't my original pump failed if my oil was being contaminated I have no idea but I'm thinking the second SRP1 failure was directly related to the first failure which like I said was for other reasons. The fact was matt at beans sold me a pump that was used on an obs with a early front cover and was alowing the oil to drain down. So every time it was started the pump was spun without sufficient oil. I'm neutral for a while on these pumps. When they cleary prove themselves I may chose one but for now my faithful pump still produces plenty of oil to drag my tractor around. I really like this forum and everyone on it. There is something to learn from everyone. Whether it be there experience, knowledge, or mistakes! If you want more details about this ordeal pm me!

I have put down 470hp on the stock HPOP... So I am one that believes dont fix it if its not broken.

I will be getting the SRP-1 at some point because the pump I have now is not holding pressure anymore.

I went with the T500 for the "bang for the buck" option. 295$ isn't a bad price for an upgraded pump. Every once in a while ya can find one in the sale forum or on cl or ebay for decent prices but ya don't know what your getting. I just believe it will feed the stage II's better, giving me that little more. PMS I guess. haha

I plan to look into injectors at some point in the near future. Ive been think about stage IIs but have also been wondering which ones and what differs between them and if my HPOP is even holding up to the tunes I have now, and what would be the best HPOP to support the IIs on a tight budget. What realistic power numbers would that bump me to? Im guessing Im around 300/600 with the mods in my signature, anyone have a better guess? I know... I know but were on the topic

Wow! Fun read.

Let me clear up some of the smoke, so to speak..

Joe, I did have a few moded 17's fail. The few that did, did so immediately. What failed? The internal C ring. All failures were used pumps. To my knowledge, none of the new Bosch pumps failed. If one did, the customer never contacted me for support, as they have a two year warranty. I should add that every moded 17(customer supplied with xxxxxxxx miles on them) that did have an issue, was repaired/replaced at NO charge.

I then decided to have my own parts made and replaced the factory C ring with something much more reliable. I also machined out the swashplate for a rear bearing to support the shaft, exactly like the OEM 15 degree pumps. That $20 bearing adds the additional support that the 5 cent brass bushing could not. For the record, I have not received a single T500 back that was blown up or damaged to date. The T500 carrys a 2 year warranty as well.

The T1000 is done testing and IMO is a success. My only issue I have now, is time. I don't have it.

Once things slow down on the demand of the T500, I will start producing the T1000.

Joe, do you remember what I charged you for that moded 17? I do. Apparently it was not enough. Buy an SRP1, by all means and good luck.

Thank you,

Joey@TE
