a married transfer case is when the transfer case is mated with the transmission, and divorced means there is a driveshaft in between transmission and transfer case.
The way to tell is the intermediate driveshaft. If its married it doesn't have one. IMHO, married is better because it's one less set of U-joints that you can break. If your truck is lifted though, a divorced set up may be better in order to clear a crossmember or something. Are you looking to buy a truck, or do you have one already and are just curious?

wyckedcombo17,
I do have a '79 F-350 4x4 and was curious as to the difference between T-cases. Thanks for your input and info.
P.S. I'm always looking to buy a truck that I like and can afford.
