Question on my 2004 Ford Explorer?

Hi,

I am doing a tune-up on my 2004 Ford Explorer and I have read that when you do a tune-up that you should change the PCV valve or PVC valve whichever it is, I have heard both. One mechanic told me that EVERY car has one and another said that not all do. ANyway I called a couple parts stores and tried to order one and they did not have any and could not get them. So my question "Does a 2004 Ford Explorer have a PCV valve?" Please only answer if you know for sure.

Also I ordered a cabin filter for it and did not receive it, so I am assuming that it does not have a cabin filter, correct?

PCV is positive crankcase ventilation. That is a 1/2 inch tube that goes from the intake manifold area around the throttle body.. to one side of the engine valve cover. The PCV is the plastic fitting that plugs into the valve cover and the hose connects to it. THe manifold is under vacuum and sucks engine blowby fumes from the valve cover area to the intake and burns them... I dont know if you have one or not, MOST engines do so you can scavenge fumes off the crankcase.
