Question about my 2004 Ford Explorer.

I just had a simple question. I bought a used 2004 Ford Explorer last year and I noticed on the rear view mirror there is a power button. I cannot figure out what it is for. I have pushed it and it just seems to turn on and off without actually doing anything. It stays on unless I turn it off. I thought maybe it was to heat up the mirror but that doesn't really make sense to me. Could somebody please tell me what this button does!!! It is bugging the crap out of me.

Pretty sure that when it is "on" the mirror auto dims at night when that special someone drives behind you with their brights on.

I think Navyguns is right. Assuming you don't have an owner's manual, and that's why you asked here, download a copy of the owner's manual for your 2004 here and check out the section starting on page 52.
