2004 Possible Upgrades

I just bought a really nice 2004 F150 XLT. This truck is missing a couple things that I had on my last truck that I would like to add to this truck but not sure if the wiring is already there and I can just tie into it or if it isn't possible. I would also like to find out what one item is.

1) there is a square item on the rear view mirror that has wire going to it, but this mirror is not a automatic dimming mirror. Can anyone tell me what this is?

2) Can I change the rear view mirror out to make it an automatic dimming mirror?

3) Can I change out the side view mirror making them heated?

Yeah I know why didn't I just buy a truck with it already on it, just couldn't find one in my price range for these two features that I would love to have again.

Thanks in advance
Richard

The black box attached to the rear view is for the compass, as far as changing the rear view I think you could but not a hundred, enjoy your new truck
