I bought my truck used about 5 years ago. It had about 70k on it. I know it was from Texas because the old owners insurance card was in the glove box.
I don't know much about its history but it had a fifth wheel hook-up installed at one point.
While i was trying to find the source of the oil leak i noticed, What bad shape the wire harness is in. the plastic plug for the fuel heater is rotted away and the plug that go's in to the left valve cover. All the wire's that go into that plug are exposed up about an 1/8 of an inch.
So the question is.. Where or Who sell's a Motor harness harness out side of ford ?
Junkyard is another option. Do you really need the whole harness or just some pigtails? There are a few sources to just order the pigtails and splice them into your existing harness.
As far as the fuel bowl heater just cut the connector off. One wire at a time or you will blow a fuse. The fuel bowl heater is useless and if a short occurs in the assembly a fuse will blow and there will be no power to the PCM. Those who know leave it unplugged.
PartsguyEd can get you a spare harness.
I've already purchased one from him for my truck against the future.
It wasn't cheap $400.00+ at the time IIRC.
But I've already had to patch two plugs, the AC high/low switch and the ICP sensor plug.
ICP plug repair was my fault from doing the 10k mod, but the AC switch simply fatigued apart on it's own.
