Boring an engine is for maintenance, not performance.

In anything. The 6 cubic inches you get from boring an 8 cylinder .030" will do nothing short of hopefully cleaning up the bore taper and out-of-round. It is not a performance modification on any engine unless you're going completely gonzo and adding some REAL diameter to the cylinders.

I'd rather take it easy and keep the strength of the block.
