Lightbulb Bored out motor??

Just a train of thought, gas motors do it all the time have you done it or heard of someone boreing out a motor and oversized pistons?? This might be a waste of time thread but just curious. Now that i am starting to work my way into money i can look into these mods.

no substantial gains to it.

Boring is only useful to us if the cylinders are oval'd out.

It's different with our trucks. Nothing to gain with it cause its such high compression.

I'm sure if your shooting for 800 hp it could make a difference.
But for normal use, I dont' think you'll see any.
I was gonna do 20 over on my block for the same thoughts as you did, and asked a few guys and found out its a waste of money. heh.

For super high horse power numbers, itl do good. But youd see little to no gain for a DD. Now on a gas engine, its a different story. I have a mustang with a 289 thats bored over, and it definately makes a difference. I think like talyn said, it has to do with the compression.
And WTF, whered KEITH STONE GO??

Yeah, better to spend that money on an intercooler, head studs, water/meth injection, turbo, injectors, traction bars, chip, intake, downpipe, exhaust.... and the list goes on...
