Crank is ok (WHEW) bringing her home tue. I am going to tear into the harness myself @ home and see what i can see. anything special i should be looking for other than broken, chafed or burnt ?
ok guys heres the question which harness ,5c3z-12b637-aa or 5c3z-12b637-ba ,went to the local ford dealership and found out production date was 11/13/04 and at that date ( 11/04 ) they changed from aa to ab per ford . H ow can i tell the difference ,no tag on harness and its out of the truck now.

Reason: clarification
how do you get to the crank sensor ,i have installed the harness except pluging in the crank sensor, still have to fill up anti-freeze and put back belt tensioner ,hookup batteries
tight is right,i can barely see it ,i took the ground lug loose ,it made a little more room but i still cant reach it from the front and theres no way to get to it from the back of the engine cross-member,there has to be a trick to it

A 10mm and 13mm swivel head GearWrench will be your best friend for this part of the job. There just isn't an easy way around it. You'll need to unbolt the A/C compressor from the block to gain proper access to it. Given that there are two parts of the harness that clip to the block, one of which is directly behind the compressor, I refuse to install this in any other way, other than the way it came off.

pretty much the easy way right there. it sucks but it is what it is.
