what year is the truck? also to be a ford certified shop it would have to be a dealer in wich case they should have a vmm and be doing the timing test with it being " ford certified "
cheezit it is a 2005 f 350 124,000 miles and was a ford dealership diesel mech. and opened his own buss. a few years ago ,has good references around town and at local ford dealership ,talked to two mech and parts counter guy , he does fleet work for major utility co. here ,what is vmm ,first diesel and learning as i go ( to much to fast for my liking ) lol
did not throw this sync code code until after it was worked on/how much for a harness (ugg)
As far as price, I can't comment on due to the fact that parts tend to be way cheaper for you guys in the U.S. but the part number for an engine harness for a 2005 F-Series 6.0L is 5C3Z-12B637-AA. Bring that part number to your local dealer for a price.
im back , first i want to thank you both for helping out here , ficm and pcm check out ok... swaped out a working harness and cmp,ckp sensors ,cleaned area for rust, recieving code p0335 ,any other ideas ? mech. said he was going to check out reluctor monday, curious how does a crank reluctor (ring or wheel) fit on the crank ? pressed on,bolted

What exactly is a "working" harness? A used harness? If so, from another truck of identical model year?

How about, if there is an issue with the crank trigger wheel itself, you have to purchase the entire crankshaft with 100% certainty? That said, I can tell you it's not bolted on or pressed on.
Think its time for me to bring the old girl home and do a little investigating myself,20 days at the shop
I think you can buy a boroscope relatively cheap now that you could stick in the CKP sensor hole and inspect the reluctor teeth. As far as that goes, it's not THAT hard to pull the oil pan.
