Ok, so the other day I borroed my truck battery for a project boat. Had the battery out for a couple of days. Drove the truck those days (actually forgot the battery was out ) Well I was going to leave work and started my truck. started fine, put it in drive and gave it gas and nothing happend. no power at all. Truck just idle'd at normal rpms. so i was just rolling, after less then a minute it would drive normal. was kinda worried but headed home. it did it again on the way home. At that point i thought about the battery and felt like an idiot. got it home promptly put battery back in. next time i drove it drove fine so i figured that was the problem. been about two weeks and did it did it as i was leaving my house today at lunch. just did it the once and then drove fine. it is 106 degrees today in austin so i dont know if that would affect it too??? any ideas??
Sounds like an IVS issue(Idle validation switch) possibly, this switch must be "seen" by the PCM before it acknowledges the position of the throttle input and signal from the TPS(Throttle position sensor).
