I have a 400ci in my truck. The Distributor is stuck.
The housing of the distributor got broke while a buddy of mine was pulling the intake off. I bought a new distributor but the old one will not come out.
I have removed the retaining bolt. Soaked it down with penetrating oil. But the Distributor will not come out of the engine
Keep soaking try PB blaster, since the housing is already broke can you get a pipe wrench on it? Or a chain wrench, back and forth pressure and tap with a hammer?
It might take a BIG tap with a big hammer, since you already have a new one....
If you have a a/c bracket probably not, you can try a special plumbing wrench for getting up under the sink. Its has a 90 degree spring loaded collar, hardware store for it.
Also might try a kit called "freeze off', most auto parts stores carry it.
I had this happen once, definately soak
with pb blaster then if you can get a crow bar under the housing you can prolly pry it out. I took my ac compressor off and with the ac bracket as the fulcrum.
When you replace the distributor, smear some never seize on the shaft that touches the block. This will help in preventing it from seizing to the block. I do this to ALL my distributors and have never had one get stuck on me. john
