i did,haha. any way, i was told to unplug the alt and ground out that same green wire and turn the key on, and the battery light should have come on, thats how i knew there was a problem in the circuit
I still don't get it. Why put the filament of the indicator light in series with the circuit and not just put it in parallel? Just another illustration of why I hate automotive electronics. If we had done junk like that when I installed controls, we would have been thrown out of the customer site and never allowed to return.
Does anybody know if there is a "lamp test" on these trucks? Aside from watching closely as the lamps cycle on startup is there a way to force all the lamps to illuminate just to be sure they all work?

as far as i know, yes and no if you turn the key and hold it right before its a bout to turn the starter on" inbetween the on and start position. it will illuminate the water in fuel, wait to start. etc i dont know about any of the lights on the guage panel.
