Hey guys, I am getting white smoke at start up so I figured it was time to change out the GPR. I am not sure what one was in it (very cobbled by previous owner) but I replaced it with the gpr109. When I hit the key it buzzes for like a minute or so and then shuts off. Is this normal? I wasn't 100% sure on the wiring but it seemed idiot proof (I will probably regret saying that in a minute) I hooked the 2 large leads to the individual large posts, then the wire that went to the terminal marked with an S on the old one I hooked the the S terminal on the new one. Here is my uncertainty, the 4th wire on the old one was bolted to the mounting flange. I jumped to the conclusion that it should go to the terminal labeled "I" on the GPR109. Is that correct? It certainly starts better but still smokes so I will be checking the gp's next. The thing that gets me is, even if the PO was trying to ground that connection for some reason, the old gpr was held in place by tape and zip ties and wouldn't have grounded. Thanks guys for the many responses to follow.
Mine doesn't really buzz so much as "sing" in kinda has a nice hum to it that you can certainly hear from in front of the truck. At times you can hear it from the cab as well, but it has been working well so far, so I am not worried about it at this point.
