OP problem

it seems after runnung down the X-way for about 10 mines whenI get off the ramp for the light my Op drops off to 12 and slowley comes back to 20 ( where it normanly runs hot @ idle)AND THE RPM DROPS TO 500 AND THEN BACK UP WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?? could a sticking <ACRONYM title="Injection Pressure Regulator">IPR</ACRONYM> do it or do i need to start looking for a motor or new truck?@ 2000 rpm hot the op is still @ 38 like always.

All I can say is when the op drops low with the rpms that would be normal, although I don't know where these trucks should run normally. I don't have a gauge to check. I'm also no help what could be causing this.

So, in other words, I'm not much help at all, but here is another bump..

You might just need to replace the LPOP. If so most go with the Melling. If that ends up being the issue.

Mine will drop to 20psi hot at idle but my idle is at 700. The dropping to 500 could be the IPR O rings, cheap to check and cheaper then a new motor.

changed the IPR no change, what would cause idel to drop?

Fuel pressure. They will do weird things like stumble and sputter but some times still run.
