Somewhere I read about a higher than stock PSI radiator cap. Something like 22 maybe. Has anyone else heard of this or does someone maybe have a part number?
I see 20-22 psi systems for other vehicles but the pressure is not going in a degas bottle its straight on the radiator with an over-flow tank....my biggest concern is the integrity of that degas bottle........
Not sure if all Ford expansion tank threads are the same with different pressure caps. You would think that would be cheaper and make sense but we are dealing with vehicles. Going out to my local Ford dealer at lunch and take a look at one.
Just curious, why would you want to put a higher psi cap on the system? Isn't that like masking a problem instead of figuring out what it is and fixing it right. 16 psi seems to be fine on trucks that have a healthy cooling system (ie...good egr/oil coolers, good HG, water pump, 16 psi cap, ECT....). Maybe I'm missing somthing here, but I just see it has trying to hide/ignore a problem with the truck.
