starter sticks

HELLO I'm new to this forum I just purchased a 1987 ford F250 that had been sitting for 3yrs it has 300 6 cylinder I put a new battery in it.A new celnoid now the starter sticks when you go to start it motor will start starter stays in any help would be appreciated

The key cylinder might not be retracting all the way to the "run" position. Some WD-40 fixed this on my old Bronco.

My 87 f350 did the same thing new starter and solenoid did again with the new items with the key out off my truck try puting the wire back on the solenoid same thang replace my neutral safety switch on the trans working fine
