This is a video of my first ever truck pull with my 76 highboy with a mildly built 390, well mild enough that i cant keep from shearing stock u joints lol. Anyway, i finished 5th out of 13, looking to improve with a little more experience. Enjoy.
It was tight but i ended up popping the clutch which made it hop at the line.
I can imagine it takes some getting used too. If you can avoid some of that hopping you'll do a little better. I know my uncle has a little different setup but they usually try to get it rolling just a little before really getting with it. You really got in it quick which will make them bounce too.

Yea i felt like it wasent going so i ended up accidentally pooping the clutch which got it hopping and was hard to get rolling, by the way thats a killer set up he has there.
Yea I think you'll get the hang of bringing it out of the hole. Your first pull was better than a lot of them I seen. Half the people can't ever back into the sled.
As for my uncles puller...yea its very competive. He's one of the few that runs a hemi ford. Most people don't even think they exist they only know chryslers. That truck has seen many but little changes and has been a winnin setup for probably close to 30 years now.
Yea I honestly don't know but they have been doing it for a long time so they spent a few bucks. Id love to be able to show you guys the internals in that thing. Its pretty cool.
I saw that you were pulling with USA East. Where was the pull?
Just a warning, it is very addicting. Been pulling for 2 years now. Never gets old.
PA74F250 - I saw your uncle's truck at the Keystone Nationals this year in Harrisburg. Very nice truck and a good runner too!
Cool yea they usually go if they are invited. That pull is usually nice to go to for a trial run for the real season to start in the spring. That can be a tough place for them with the track hardly ever being consistent and it's less then 300 ft so you can't screw around getting it moving there. Other than that it's a pretty good show.
Not sure if you were talking to him or me but i was pulling at the Clearfield fair grounds, Clearfield County, PA, wasen't pulling the same weight as the points guys obviously, just a local class held at the same time as the points pull.
