Overhead console (grinnergetter style)
Put one of the end pieces on, and cut the other. Clamped into place until tomorrow.

These are probably the lights that I will use. 79_effie recommended looking at an RV store, so I did, and liked these the most. $9 a light isn't too bad.

I wanted to thank you guys for posting up pics and participating, helps to motivate me to get mine done!
Just a thought: LED Lights & Accessories - SUPER BRIGHT LEDS. I'm going to try a set of their 194 Wedge replacements for my cluster backlight. I'll loose the ability to dim them, but I'm not sure that will be an issue
They have a lot of great things on that site. A little more expensive than the RV stuff, but it will definitely run cooler than an incandescent, and you won't really have to worry about killing your battery. I'm thinking about building a roof console big enough to hold a single din stereo. I've seen the headliner one in LMC, but its too expensive and I don't want all those speakers up there.

Are you just leaving that gap there? Whats your plan for finishing the surface?
Yeah the gap will stay. The surface will be sanded then stretched with a backed vinyl
Well for the time being, this project is on standby. I've had to spend all my time installing and timing a new engine for the truck. Plus I went backpacking for a few days, so no work there. I'll let ya'll know when more is done.
