can you give me some dircetion on the steps to replace it? I assume that the steering wheel has to come off? Figures, just got everything back together fixing my cruise contol....
Also do you suggest one from ford, napa, or autozone???? I'm gonna see what ford wants for it tomorrow after work.
I guess multi function switch is the proper name since it controls quite a bit more than just the turn signals. The fact that the hazards in the front also don't work pretty much confirms that it's the problem.
wow, that's much more simply than I thought. Figured that you'd have to take off the steering wheel. anyhow, no wonder our trucks are so easy to steal.... look @ how you take the cylinder lock out!!!!
Thanks so much for the instructions and the link.
Robert
okay, I'm not argueing the fact that the switch is bad....
BUT,
Can someone explain to me why suddenly everything decided to work yesterday? I still plane on replacing the switch, just not as soon now since i really don't have the time till the end of next week (I work all week and this whole weekend).
thanks,
robert
It may just be dirty, corroded or worn contacts that started making contact again.
I don't know, because I've never taken one out, but it might be possible to disassemble it and clean all the contacts. It's a complex switch though, and it might be way to complex to ever get back together again. And it might shoot 1/2 dozen springs all over your shop that you can find again in the process.

I'll make you come and help me then because I'll never be able to find any of them lol! When I get time I'll take it out and see if it'll even come apart. I did find on napa's web site that they do have the switch....but it's $110 at my local napa.....
