has anyone tried the hypermax 5" kit for excursions? i really want 5" for my conversion but cant find any info on it. thinking of maybe buying a superduty kit and moding it. any suggestions would be great!
I like the sound"cackle" of my 3 1/2 on the ex over the quieter sound of the 4" on my 350. Would hate to hear how quiet a 5" system would be. My opinion.

I agree, the straight-piped stock exhaust on my F350 isn't as loud as 4" MBRP on my X and does not have the 'drone' I have in the X w/4" system either. I like the 'cackle' sound it makes at 30psi of boost tooo! 5" is LOUDER, but I don't think it sounds better. There is no performance difference either - don't believe anyone who sez there is!! I kinda miss how quiet the X was with all stock exhaust - part of why I kept it for 100k miles...
as an update i got the 5" hypermax kit. i highly recomend this kit to anyone who wants 5"!!! I got the tailpipe instaled in less than 15 minutes by myself. had to remove the shock from the axle but it went right back in the stock location. pipe fits perfect on a 100% stock 2001 4x4.
