I have a 2004 E350 van with the V10 engine. I had to take it in to have the steering box replaced on Tuesday. I didn't get it back until Wednesday evening and on the way home I noticed the airbag light on the dash. It is a code 19. I called the mechanic who said he didn't do anything to cause that. So, can anyone point me in the direction so that I may repair it myself? I have checked both relay wires under the drivers and passenger seats and both appear to be fine. I did disconnect them and reconnect them but I have the same issue. Thanks to any.
An airbag light after a steering gear replacement tells me the mechanic did not lock the steering column at the center while the gearbox was out. The gearbox may not have been installed with both column and gearbox centered. Try the horn. I'll bet the clockspring has been broken.
Thanks for the reply. Took truck to store today and the horn does not work, nor does the cruise control. Anyone know of a guide that I can use to replace the clockspring? Thanks.
