I must love my old trucks more than they love me! I started my 94 IDI turbo today to move it so I could mow the yard and heard a little clank clank and thought what the hell was that. I pull it up and looked where it was setting and low and behold a piece of my belt tensioner was laying there! That's gonna cost me about 90 bucks for a new belt tensioner, at least the parts house can have it for me in the morning. AND..... the return lines in my 93 IDI N/A are leaking like pouring **** out of a boot! I already have the kit to replace the return lines if I can just find the time to do it! These trucks are like my kids, always doing something to try my patience! But I love them anyway!!
I'd say that's rather good luck actually. My luck would typically have it break somewhere far away from home between 2 cities in the middle of nowhere That's why I've learned to become proactive and replace stuff early before it breaks haha
and now you know why i always pay below book value for my used trucks lol.
it's because the things can nickle and dime ya right to death.
you got a great deal on yours too though LSO,so your looking good.
a belt tentioner should run you around 50 bucks though.
i put on a goodyear one, with lifetime warranty.45-55$ somewhere in that neighborhood.
84-6.9 that is pretty bad! If either of my E4OD's ever goes out theyw ill be replaced with a jerk stick cause the E4OD computer is the baine of my existance! LOL. FORDF250, I say 90 bucks cause that's what the dealership told me. I had my mom's store order it for me so I'm not sure what's its gonna end up costing.

THe c-6 started at about $600 until th e guy got it cracked open and found the light 3 disk forward clutch pack and other assorted parts for behind a 302. No wonder the 6.9 at 24,000 gross toasted it. But now I can adjust it to where it would snap a u-joint, (but i have a nice firm shift intstead) and it will squak the tires if i manually down shift it.

As soon as I get $600 that I can spend, I'm getting an Optishift TCU for mine to replace the factory TCU. That way it won't send trouble codes for every little electrical glitch in the truck and I can control the shift firmness from inside the cab!
