Well, how do you guys like 'em?
I put mine in last week, and am quite happy with it. No more ratchet steering, no more "catching". It's still not really strong enough to turn the wheels sitting still on abrasive ground, but that's probably more of a pump problem than steering box problem.
Some of you guys put these on in thirty minutes, huh? I spent twice that much time looking for, then having to make, a tool to remove the pitman arm. I ended up taking a grinder to a pitman arm tool I use on other vehicles to get it to fit the Ford box. Also, and please don't laugh, I did remove the wheel and fender liner. It made it much easier to see what I was doing. Lastly, I used the flush procedure to get the air out of the system. These things may be self bleeding, but I ended up with a ton of air, and it was way quicker to just flush the thing.
Thanks Philip!!
