well thank you lightning. sorry for the misinformation i was tossing. feeling a little sheepish lol i just had not messed with the newer trans and now that i am thinking of it i think my 86 ranger was internal dang it lol

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. My chiltons lists all the ZF trans with an external slave. I think the older T-18, T-19, and NP-435 are the same. The M5OD is internal. Pulling the trans is a PITA just for a slave cylindar so I hope you do have an external.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Dec-02 AT 09:47 AM (EST)]There are two versions of the ZF manual transmission. The heavy duty version has an external slave cylinder, while the light duty version has the concentric slave cylinder. I think that's right, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
