if you hold it down it should not drain.

No, but it does it regardless of how it is parked. Does not matter if the truck is hot or cold either.

That's what I was getting from all the reading I have been doing but the oil filter draining caught my attention. Like to rule that out before jumping into the dummy plugs.

the other possible issue is a failed pump shaft seal. being you have an 06 you still may be under 5/100 and warranty should apply if you are

Unfortunately not under warranty; however I did bring it to the dealer when it first started getting harder to start and still under warranty. They said they were unable to reproduce symptoms?

Not trying to hijack this thread. You've peaked my interest though as my driveway is sloped quite a bit. I've noticed start time seems to be different if I back in compared to pulling in.
