I use Bilstein HD's on my 84. They give an extra measure of control on dirt roads at speed, and the last pair I installed lasted over 80K.
I have also used a pair of Rancho shocks, and they worked very well, but only for about 10K. Naturally, YMMV.

Having been into Jeeps for years I like the Bilsteins and Rancho's to. Also run the Bilsteins on my motorhome and Rancho's on most of my Jeeps, just wasn't sure if they would be the best choice for a daily driver road truck.
