shocks

i am in need of some front shocks.
truck is a 2wd
from what i hear, bilstein is the way to go.
can anyone tell me the difference between these two shocks on summit?

second shock is $5 more, but both have identical specs.

also, does anyone have any experience with KYB?
i have always had good experiences with KYB but this is my first truck, i have always had sports cars.

Not sure what the difference is in the 2 Bilstein shocks, you should probably run the part numbers through Bilstein and see how they come up.

I ran KYB GR-2's on my F150 and loved them. It was a road queen, never was offroad at all. For all-road use I like the KYB's, but if you're off road at all my preference would be for the Bilstein's.

I went with the 5160 Bilstein with the reservoir

Looks like the mounting on the one end is different.

I replaced all 4 of my shocks last year with Monroe Reflex shocks. Very happy with them thus far, much better ride and soaks up the bumps. Got them from Rock Auto.

The first one linked is the correct application with the stud and eye loop for the bottom. I replaced mine with Pro-comp 9000's. Nitrogen charged and not too pricey either. Truck rides great and handles very well.
