Hi! Looking for a Hitch that will bolt up to my 1966 F250 Custom Cab? one thats around 10,000lb rated, not that il put that much on it. its never had one before, also what type of harness do i need to get brake lights and what not? Will a 352 with a 3 speed auto and 4:10 gears pull a 34ft 9000lb trailer? that would be cool, thanks for any help!.

The truck may pull the trailer on local short hauls but surely not on anything with a hill and also down-right dangerous trying to stop it. A 3000lb trailer behind that truck is not safe. The truck itself is plenty heavy duty but the brake system is surely not up to the task, not to mention lack of power.
Lol Well id like to think that my truck is far from worn out, its only got 39k on it and it sat in a garage most of its life! its in extremely good shape, it still handles tight its not loose or worn out yet! thanks for the hitch ideas, for the wiring do i have to put in any relays for the blinkers? what about anything having to do with brake controllers?
I would think IF you upgrade to Disc brakes in the front, 2 pot master cyl, porp valve and get your self a power booster as well, you should be fine in the stopping department. Any trailer shop can wire your truck with a 7 pin connector and brake controller... i have a Prodigy.
dont expect that old beast to pull at hwy speeds or pull hills very good as mentioned above.
I'm gonna have to agree with Boss9F100 and Jowilker. Upgrade the brakes as per Bill W and you might have a rig that will work in western Kansas (as in no hills), but the 352, its cooling system, and your auto trans were not made for a 34 foot, 9000 lb load. I had a similar weight, shorter goose neck horse trailer I pulled behind a 1992 F-250 with a 460, E4OD automatic, and 4.10 gears. The 460 was only just adequate pulling hills and the E4OD wasn't - I burned up two of them before I traded for an '02 SuperDuty TurboDiesel. Now that would pull my horse trailer just fine!
