Figured it out. thanks for your help. I was off 180. But now have another problem. It starts and has oil pressure then as it runs loses it. For a fresh rebuilt it is smoking real bad, worse than would of thought for unset rings. I know it will till it breaks in. Any suggestions as to why it loses oil pressure. I pretty sure I hooked oil pump up right.
well i hope to god that it is only the sensor acting funny otherwise your engine wont break-in it will break. i have not had one smoke real bad out the pipes not even the one that only went 5.1 miles before seizing (lol no i did not do the rebuild) did you prime the oil pump before you started it and did you do the cam break in?? 20 minutes @ 2000rpm
If you are using a roller cam dont worry about this...If you were cranking and It didn't start that could be bad. Flat tappet cams need to be started and taken to 2000 rpm immediately upon startup to circulate oil around the camshaft for lubrication. I don't know how critical this is or what kink of damages could result from it though. You did use a new oil pump right?
