400 headers
does anyone know of a good set of full length headers that will fit a 1978 f-100 4x4 with manual transmission. i have seen hooker and hedman but both say they will not fit trucks with dual factory shock absorbers. don't really understand what the issue with that would be since the shocks are outside the frame rail.

I have a set of the hedmans on my 79 bronco with dual shocks and no issues.
I have a set of Summit Racing brand headers on my 79 f150 4x4. It doesn't have dual shocks, but if I remember correctly, the headers were a bit cheaper and otherwise identical.

I've got an older set of Heddmans on my 78 F250 4x4, 400, they hang level with the crossmember, the only issue that I had, is the passenger side dumps out closer to the cross member than the drivers side. It was a tight bend with the exhaust pipe to clear the cross member on that side, but it worked out ok. I was able to have all the pipes run over the cross member. hope this helps.

The bronco is auto, so i can't speak to clutch clearance.
The F150 doesn't have any problem with the clutch linkage.
They both hang below the crossmember. My exhaust is below the crossmember and never caused a problem.
