Edge CTS mounting ideas

Since (as my other thread says) my CTS was stolen today, I'm ordering a new one on Monday after the insurance adjuster is here.

I'm not wanting to use the windshield mount again, I'm looking for some creative ideas for mounting the replacement when it gets here. Any one with pictures and ideas for mounting the Insight CTS will be much appreciated.

I want to keep it down below the top of the dash so it is not easily seen when walking near the truck.

Thanks

Steve

Sorry to hear about your theft - probably kids walking by.

I mount my SGII above the rear-view mirror and it's not very noticable
from outside with the tinting & mirror already there.
I always was nervous about the dash-mounted (or A-pillar) mounts
since they screamed "here I am".

Good luck!

Thanks for the idea, I think I may look into an overhead console or compartment, mine is an XLT so it doesn't have one. That may help.

When I'm out and about I usually stick it in the center compartment so it is out of sight, but this was right in my driveway in the middle of the damn day.

Sorry to hear about the theft.

Here is how I mount my older model. It is the Edge dash pod. It also fits the Insight CS which has the same body size. There is an adapter to fit the CTS, but I've never found a picture of it. I like the way this looks on my dash, because it is not very noticeable and almost looks like OEM.

I have seen the adapter for these on their web site, Looks to me like the CTS wouldn't be sitting in the housing flush like yours does. How does the pod mount to the dash? Would it be easy to remove the unit from the pod or is it fastened in some how? It is a nice looking setup.

It attaches with Velcro, so is easy to remove.

I think you are right that the CTS will stand out on the front of the mount, instead of inset like the CS does.

Unless you are planning to use the video on the CTS, you might consider stepping down to the CS just for the streamlined mount. But hopefully your bad luck is over, and this one won't go missing.
