Cool Does 6637 mod = less mpg

Hi guys I am going to do the 6637 mod anyways but was curious about the mpg. In the end I suppose a saved turbo is one Hell of an bonus though. Wander if the mod would work on my dads cummins too.

More air is a good thing, my MPG didn't change when i switched from K+N to 6637. I don't really consider it to be much of a 'mod' as it is just putting a new air filter in, and yes it would 'work' on pretty much any truck.

It should have no adverse effect on mpg. The same filter will work on a cummins, they call it hte BHAF (big honkin air filter).

I've found only two things affect mpgs....a tail wind, and keeping rpms at just under 2k...granted, I don't do any towing, and have only loaded the bed once. Oh yeah...leaving suprised car drivers at lights in a glorious cloud of smoke affects it too

The 6637 is a great filter, awesome flow and filters out 99.9% of coarse dust. Add the pre-filter and it only help the cause.

My mileage dropped off initially. But then, I got over playing with the sound of air rushing through my engine!

Kinda like the mileage drop from a DP tuner install.

I second this haha. Ususally that is how mods work. They wreck your mileage at first.

I think that it increased my mileage. But deisels usually work as a system. So usually better air in AND out will increase mileage. Add the 6637 and the 4" turbo back exhaust and you'll be happy.

I was getting 17 when I stayed out of the pedal bone stock, then got bigger tires/wheels, lost some mileage, then added 6637 and exhaust, and got it back. So yes and no it your answer, but the 6637 has more perks than just mileage.

The Amsoil filter is way better than paper, also the S&B and other's, you can do better than the 6637. JMOP.
