Hi Guys,
Just wondering if there would be a huge loss in cooling if I went with a 7.3 cooler vs the 6.0 cooler? Is the install easier with one than another or are parts easier to find/cheaper?
Thanks,

Hey Mike, the 7.3 would be just fine, its a little smaller, thus maybe a little less cooling, probably less than 50* difference. Either one would be good for sure. The 7.3 may be a little easier if a guy uses an aftermarket trans cooler as there would be a little more room, but trans cooler will fit with the 6.0 too.

Supposedly it flows a little better so less boost loss but the plastic tanks don't like extreme boost pressure, maybe 45+ psi. Some 7.3 coolers. Have aluminum tanks and some have plastic.

the 7.3 flows better or the 6.0. So I would want to make sure I get an aluminum tank if I go 7.3.

The 6.0 flows better. You can tell by the pics that it's taller and thicker. So it'll cool better and flow better, but all the 6.0 coolers have plastic tanks.

I'm just going off bad memory on the psi Max with plastic tanks, could be more but if your pushing that much you would probably have a lot of money tied up in it anyways

If you were to run the larger 6.0 cooler...would you still be able to sneak in a aftermarket trans cooler?

Just remember that Neal is using a 6.0 intercooler with his modded H2E and dynoed over 500hp recently... so I think they're plenty stout!

I've got the 6.0 IC and the trucool trans cooler in mine. Tight, but they fit. I think you can even get the 6.0 trans cooler in there with the 6.0 IC, but it would be REAL tight.

Same here: 6.0 IC and Tru-Cool Max in mine, they fit nice. And agree that the 6.0 IC and 6.0 transcooler could fit.
