Well one thing for sure comment about double line pull putting less stress on the hitch was a little off and scary as it probably will get "under" built.
As for winch choice I guess it's w/e is in the budget. Might be better off to get a used m12000 over the other one as long as it seems like it was taken care of. You get what you pay for. If you don't have a 100+ high voltage alternator your gonna wanna budget that in too.
On a side note I just picked up another winch for my new 79 f250 today that was originally mounted to it for $100. It's a 8000 Ramsey older model. Damn thing doesn't seem to work. Maybe sitting to long as I put direct power to motor and nothing. Frustrating I hate wasting my time on stupid crap...
If its the same "older model" Ramsey I'm thinking of, the "motor" is an old Ford tractor starter. Its easy and cheap enough to swap that out and go from there. A heavy dose of lube on the gears would be another good place to start.
