jim, on my 97 the vacuum pump died twice (essentially killing brake power) both times i had the horse trailer on in 0-25-0-25mph highway traffic. what line let go?
kyle i hope the kraut-mobile doesnt ruin your trip!
Mine's gas, I have a regular booster.
Inside the frame rail alongside the gas tank, and the brake hose had a huge blister.
My pedal is firmer than it ever was niw.
let me guess, right between the cab and bed where the water can come down onto the line? thats the worst possible failure point on those OBS trucks. glad to hear its all in order now!
i am wide awake so i am going to pretend to sleep until i actually sleep which hopefully wont be too long of a wait.
Attention: team gagnon will be working and not attending monson. That is all
Well that stinks, my weekend seems shot now. Had a date setup for Sat and she had to cancel 'cause she got a new job and now you guys canceling do to work, grumble
Good morning Ray.
Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do...
Aaron. right in the middle of the side tank.
It's beneath the bed.
Although I have to say, it was more difficult getting the fitting out of the RABS without destroying it, the seized bleeder on the passenger wheel was a HUGE PITA.
I ended up cracking the line->wheel cylinder in order to do clear the air.
Waiting for daylight so I can finish painting the rear gable of this house, and re-hang the gutters.
My 'battle' with my truck and the dealership should be closing soon, hopefully. I went yesterday and spoke to the service manager for over an hour, he listened to the ticking noise I had referred to a while ago. He said his techs would have to confirm it before further diagnosis, but they want to help. It was noted by him, the woman who called, and a salesman that my feelings against the sale are unacceptable and they want to right the wrong. If nothing comes of it, I'll talk to the lady again and push for a buyback or free extended warranty if nothing else. I'd like the buyback, I know where I'll go with it. Also, my TPMS light came on again, the truck won't move until Monday when it can be driven in. This will be the fourth time it's been mentioned, and third for the ticking noise.
In your opinion, is five dealer trips for four issues unacceptable? What would you do?
Not sure if the lemon law applies, anything I find on it states 4 attempts at the same problem. I have 3 attempts at one issue, another one brought up 3 times but never on paperwork, one going to be three times and one freak thing. But five total? To list the last four, 6/21, 6/28, 7/29, and (going to be) 8/8. None of these being routine maintenance.
After snooping through the forums here I found a way to contact a Ford rep through TheDieselStop. Sent him a message as well. The dealer is a Blue Oval dealer, that being known they might not want the 2-page letter I have to Ford Motor Company to find its way to the mailbox.
Maybe I should ask my family's attorney if he's familiar with the law?
MATT- lemon law is close to impossible to get a buyback out of. to put it in perspective, in the 9 years i worked at freightliner fixing those HORRIBLE mercedes vans, there was ONE successful buyback out of MANY angry customers pushing for one.
i would keep pushing up the food chain with ford. it may cost you some more down time but if the dealer cannot figure it out a ford rep will get involved (with several other reps and engineers on speed dial) and your truck will be fixed.
i am watching a movie and then its off to my parents to play with my dog and eat free dinner.
