Well I had to replace the front passenger side door lock actuator today. Did the foil mod right after I bought the truck in May of 2007. Did all five of the actuators, so far this is the only one that has failed. So I got four years out of the power lock mod! I'm happy with that. New one from the local Ford dealer was $24.50+ tax. Not to bad. I'm happy, just wanted to let anyone thinking of doing this mod how long it lasted for me. Gonna be a long hot week ahead for me, start a weeks vacation next week and can't wait! I need to search this mod sounds like. I'm sitting in a dealership waiting to take home my "new to me" Ex and the locks don't work.

 

Are you sure you are talking about the door lock motor? Those are like $50 off brand. No telling what they are at FORD. Where did you find them so cheap?

I got all mine at my dealer for like $33.
