08 F250 - Weird Problems
I am just looking to see if anyone on here has had similar problems with their truck as I have. My truck, like many other super duty's in the same year blows white smoke on an adnormal basis for me to still believe its the DPF. Recently, while it was raining out (not sure if that matters) my truck started, the air bag light stayed light and the wrench popped up and the truck studdard for about 15 seconds then ran fine.
Since this time my ABS light comes on at random then disappears. Both when the truck is cold and hot.
Today, I was driving the truck around town, pulled into a parking lot, put the truck in park and the same thing happened the air bag light came on and the truck started to shake. I shut the engine off, then tried to restart the truck and it would not fire. Once it wpuldnt start the truck light up "check brake system". I let it sit for 15 mins. Got back in and it started, ran for 10 seconds or so then quit. It finally did start long enough for me to move it out of the way, while moving the emergency brake light, ABS light and air bag light stayed lit and almost stalled. Once I stopped it did stall.
Funny enough, the truck sat for an hour. Hopped back in with a code reader and all of a sudden it started working and has since (only been 24hrs). No history codes were stored in the computer. The only other thing I noticed was an hour ago while driving, the truck wouldnt shift into third. It took a coupke of miles before it started to shift again.
Crazy and weird problems. Any suggestions. I tried ford twice and they couldnt find anything. They fixed the coolant twice to control the smoking but the coolant level is always low and always blows smoke. I am going to try a DPF anyway and see what that does.
Low coolant, check head gaskets.
Shudder and engine dies.....you had a check engine light for a while, so you should have a code stored.
Now as far as all the lights and stuff I think that is a wiring harness issue.
If you cannot seem to get anyway then I suggest you go to another dealer and let them have a go at it.
Also might want to rule out the obvious and have both batteries checked.
Its been two days and nothing has gone wrong? The engine light never came on, just the wrench. The code reader I have does not detect any sotred codes. Not sure whats going on.
