Diesel oil is supposed to remove and suspend soot.

I assume the shell oil you used is a diesel rated oil (CI4+ or CJ4 rated)?

You are driving a diesel.....today's oils have cleaners in them....I'd worry if it DIDN'T get dark!

Yes it a CJ4 grade from Shell, they say it the best !! however when I use Ames or Mobil 1 after 10,000km it is still clear. So should I change it just after having number 7 injector replaced and my fuel pump.

Rotella T6 is a great oil. I know nothing about Ames ?? Mobil 1 makes a good diesel oil also - the Turbo Diesel Truck oil.

They should all get pretty dark quickly.

Thank for your help, I feel better now, I was going to change it. Now I wont, however will change it at 5000 Km's from now instead of 10,000KM.
