Oil question?

Oil question?
I was reading the other day that hey have reduced the amount of zinc in oil. Especially the diesel oil, I use rotella. Does anybody use an additive on theirs?

No, rotella is a very good oil. I used to use the dino 15w40 and 10w30 now I use the syn 5W40 and they are all very good oils. Any diesel rated oil should need no additives. with the injection system using high pressure oil to actuate our injectors any oil additive other than a replenish for you particular oil is dangerous.

Damn oil is getting exspensive. I changed my oil out and it dang near cost me $50 clams!

Stick to Rotella; pretty safe bet. Change every 3k if city driving or big load, 5k if lots of highway miles. Mine's still running at 393,000+
