f150 cd changer problem
I have a 97 f150 xlt with a factory cd changer. I have been having problems getting the cartridge to load. I press the yellow button with the cartridge pushed in, hear a faint noise from some sort of motor but the changer will not take the cartridge. The problem has been tempermental. It would do it every so often and would take some finesse to get it to work. Now it seems to be here for good. I shined a flashlight in there and could see no debris. I even blew a little compressed air in there-nothing. I read that Audi and Mercedes changers have problems with the converters. A solution for that is to unplug the changer and converter and let everything lose "memory" for a while. Am I up the right alley? I am even considering taking it out and apart myself. Is that necessary? If so, how do I take the panel off so I can take it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
