last night my motor threw the rod out of the block for no good reason. 81k miles. been running great.
so now my choices are to sell it fix it or burn it
got a line on a new 2011 5.0l but its a 6 year commitment.
been looking at low mile engines but they go for big money and a ford re-manufactured motor is even more.
but i did find this... the price is golden. super low miles. but its out of a e series van. 09 10 FORD E150 ENGINE E150 5.4L VIN L 8TH DIGIT | eBay
but will it fit? a 5.4 is a 5.4 isnt it? i got all the tools possible at my disposal.
what do you guys think? i got till monday to decide...
its 3500 for a new motor installed.
or 35000 for a new truck.
some solid advice would be great. thanks a million guys.
that sucks man, i found some deals in the past but i would look for a totaled 06-08 and swap the motor. i found one at the all ford show in PA, it was trans and motor with all bolt on's still hooked to the frame. they cut the frame and were selling it for like $2400. i would not try to make a 09+ fit. it may bolt in but if it turns to a PITA it could go down hill fast. good luck
