I tried one of the cheap-o repops and it lasted ONE pull, this thing was SO loose before i put it on it's pathetic. It was a Dorman or Sherman reproduciton handle, I want an OEM FORD one.
Either one will work for Bright Finish. The only difference is a added spring to help hold the mechanisim in place on the E5TZ parts.
If you are in a pinch, E0TZ-9943400-A and E5TZ-9943400-A will also work, but they are plain.
Make sure the latch mechanisims are in good shape and oiled well, otherwise even the Factory handle can bend after time and need to be straigtened with a hammer.
Latches have been celaned, greased with white lithium, and reinstalled after the paint job. My stock handle the chrome is starting to pit and it pulls crooked (pulls out about twice ar far on the right side of the handle as opposed to the left side of the handle) from years of incorrectly functioning latches and improper tailgate alignement.
-edit- Poo, looks like green's doesnt have any tailgate handles...Dennis Carpenter wants $140 + S/H for one.

There is a round "Rivet" looking cylindrical "thing" on the right side of the handle where it engages the other half of the handle mechanisim. It rides on a flat spot etc... This part needs to be bent back down so it engages the flat spot correctly. Even a little off will make the handle function the way you describe.

$140, eek! I would try the wreckers...
As I said before in the other thread, supply and demand...
No, Ed doesn't say how many he has, or even *if* he has it in stock or has to order it from somewhere else.
My understanding from NumberDummy is:
If a search on his site comes back with a part number and a price, that means he can sell it to you for that price, and will himself first get it from < wherever > if he does't have it in stock so long as you use the Web system and not the telephone.
This "FTE discount on parts" thing is a part-time thing Ed and some of his coworkers do during slow periods during their real jobs.
One of the ways of reducing their costs is to involve people as little as possible - IOW have the customer find the part number and do the searching.
If you click the Add to Cart link, it sends Ed an e-mail telling him to get the part if he doesn't have it in stock.
This is my understanding of how it's supposed to work, anyway.
But Ed has been having some medical issues and has been off work in the not-too-distant past, some of his coworkers were filling in for him and that still may be the case today, not real sure.
In any event, I'd try to buy it from Ed's site first and see what happens....
