In a past post I asked about putting a non computer engine/trans in my 1994 F-150. A 351 cleveland with a C-6.
Well I was told no computer no speedo.
Question #1 can a speedo from a older Ford work
Question #2 can a computer be fooled? if the sences are in place (o2 ,air flow. temp, anti knock throttle postion) I know nothing will happen cause it has a carb, but will the computer know, will the speedo work, the worse case the check engine light will come on If this would work what sences are on the trans.
Question #3 should I give up this dream buy a diff. truck ( This truck is in great shape, only 59000 on the clock some rust on the frame but thats it)
Thanks in advance!!!!!
Whoever told you that was wrong. The speedo does NOT go thru the engine computer - it's self-contained and requires only the rear axle sensor & power. Read this thread.
