4R100 thoughts....

Just pulled apart and went thru my 4R100. everything looked good, put new oil pump and new torque converter. Before i put it in just want some thoughts. My original problem was slipping in all gears,at idle it would catch and drive.Led me to believe its a pressure problem. Any thoughts before i put this thing back in???

Frictions and steels all looked new, no heat spots and very little wear. Which also lead me to think that it was the TC/pump. But i didnt tear down the sun planetary clutch packs.

Just more of a patch than a rebuild

Its hard to tell if you will fix the problem or not, there should have been more diagnoses before you pulled the trans, pressure test, scanner info, etc.

Did the pump look bad? they rarely have problems unless the converter had a big failure.

Metal in pan?

was some bronzecooring in pan not a whole lot. i reaized after tht i should of pressure checked it but hind sight is 20 20. as for the scaner there were no tansmission related codes. as for symptom i wasdriving along road puled over and started goin again, after about 5 min it reved at idle and low throttle it was ok anything more and it would slip. this happened in all forward gears aswell as reverse. I know te old C6 and 727 trannies just never played with a new style like this. is there anything in the rear section of the tran that would cause slipping in al gears?
