rebuilt a4ld, no luck
So Ok, first thing rookie on a rebuild, I have a 90 BII 4x4 2.9. rebuilt the a4ld. used a kit from Transtar follwed the ATSG. (The planetary gear in the overdrive housing had "exploded") reinstalled everything went to try it out (it is up on jack stands) no luck, it seems to be trying to shift, but the rear wheels don't turn, in fact I can barely turn them by hand, it almost seems as if the emergencty brake is on, but I have checked that and the cable is loose. My first suspect is the transfer case. any way to check and confirm that it is in 2WD mode? Can I bypass the 4x4, I don't really care if it ever is anything but 2x4 at this point. any thoughts would be appreciated.
