Does anyone still make a good plastic 5 gal. gas can that has a separate vent hole?? I hate the ventless cans that take forever to empty.
I've still got 3 of them, but I can't find new replacement spouts. Eventually those spouts will age and crack. The cans way outlast the spouts. The cans are 10 yrs old and always stored under cover.
I bought 1 of the latest style cans that has a lever actuated valve. It seals so good that vapors can't escape, causing the can to blow up like a baloon when hauled in the back of a truck. I'm sure that is real safe!!!
I could keep on ranting, but I'll stop and wait for some replies.
Thanks in advance for any info.
The good cans and spouts are long gone. Thanks to our Government that is trying to "protect" us. I say leave well enough alone. I agree with you on these New cans. Anyways your best bet would be try finding some that are used and in decent shape, or making a new spout out of something flexible.
I just found new replacement spouts for my "antique" GOTT plastic cans at rotopax.com. They are $30 + shipping for a pack of 3. I was led there by ebay. I always forget about ebay when looking for things.
I love the GOTT cans because they are low and wide. They will not tip over in my truck bed. Between me and my Mom, we have 5 of them. I will use them until they turn to dust.
just a heads but do you remember those 5 gal red steel cans? The local sporting goods store here local gives gaskets away free, its the law. It might be anywhere for all who care.
